It is Monday, Again
“Just by changing your attitude, you have the power to turn rainy days into rainbows.”
- Natalie Evans
You woke up this morning and you either dreaded the fact that it was Monday, the weekend was over and it was time to return to work or you woke up excited to begin another day.
This morning it was raining in New York City. This is good news or bad news depending on how you look at it. The fact that it is Monday and it is raining does not change. It is the way we react to things that makes all of the difference.
“Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.” – Francesca Reigler
Many cities have already seen huge amounts of snow this year and it is just the beginning of winter. In the winter are you excited to see snow because you know the skiing will be great or are you discouraged having to shovel the sidewalk and driveway again?
Are you rushing out the door frustrated that the snow will make you late for work or do you take time to notice the way the snow has magically painted everything white?
When was the last time you stopped to listen to the sound of snow or rain falling on top of your umbrella as you walked through the city? When was the last time you broke off an icicle, made a snow angel or built a snowman? When was the last time you noticed how the lights of the city reflect on wet streets? When was the last time you had a cup of hot chocolate after being outside in the cold weather?
Take time to enjoy the beauty of winter. This season won’t last forever. Enjoy today. There will never be another Monday, January 14, 2008. Treasure every minute.
Make Time for Chocolate.
