Happy St. Patrick's Day!

There was a sign flashing in Times Square last week that said “Pinch someone wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day and say you are color blind.”

St. Patrick’s Day is a huge celebration in New York City. The St. Patrick’s Day parade travels up Fifth Avenue from 44th to 86th Street and it has over 150,000 marchers every year. The parade usually begins around 11 am and the celebrations last well into the evening. Green carnations and daisies are sold on the streets, along with all kinds of St. Patrick’s Day stuff.

History.com has a mini web site focusing on St. Patrick’s Day. While you are there, take a look at the video The History of St. Patrick’s Day.

Enjoy the day. Celebrate with friends and make time for chocolate.
